The Pontic Mountains, known locally as Dogukaradeniz Daglari, are the prominent northern range in Turkey, bordering on the Black Sea. Most of the high peaks of the Pontic Mountains are between 3000 and 4000 meters, with the highest peak, Kackar Dagi, rising to 3942 meters (12,933 feet).
