Though there are many volcanoes in Mexico, the name Mexican Volcanoes is often used in collective reference to Mexico's three highest mountains, all isolated volcanoes towering in the skies east of Mexico City. These mountains, Pico de Orizaba (18,405 ft./5,610 m.), Popocatepetl (17,888 ft./5,452 m.), and Iztaccihuatl (17,842 ft./5,286 m.) provide the highest elevations attainable in NorthAmerica with minimal technical expertise.
