The island of Borneo sits on the equator, and is divided politically in half, the northern portion belonging to Malaysia and the Southern portion to Indonesia. Several small mountain ranges meander across the island. Most significant of these is the Crocker Mountain range, which covers 40 miles near the Malaysian northern coast of the Island. From this range, Borneo's highest summit, Mount Kinabalu (13,455 ft.), dominates the surrounding landscape.
