Grandes Jorasses

We started the ascent from near the Boccalatte Hut (from our tents) at 5:00 am. We reached the summit of the Grandes Jorasses (Pointe Walker, 4208 m) at 12:54. We stayed at the top for about twenty minutes, because the weather was windy. There was rotten afternoon snow. We returned to our tents at 8:25 pm. It was a great climb, but it was very exhausting. There are crevasses, avalanche danger, stone-fall (on the Glacier Grandes Jorasses) and cornices (on the summit ridge).
