Set out from Lincoln Woods Visitor's Center with a 30lb backpack, through Wilderness and onto Bondcliff Trail with the aim of getting to Guyot Campsite. Bondcliff Trail was long and hard (thank god for the walking sticks my buddy and I picked up along Lincoln Woods Trail). Tricky shimmy once you break above the treeline and onto Alpine zone approaching Bondcliff. Exposed ridge from Bondcliff to Mt. Bond. Tiring but exhilarating (great views, photo ops). Watchout & prepare for bad/cold weather (even on a perfect late summer day, the overnight temperatures got down close to freezing)and unpredictable winds/gusts. Fragile Alpine vegetation surrounding Mt. Bond requires minimum-impact hiking/camping. Great backpacking route (keep an eye on water supply).
