Description
Alto de Lagunazo is located in the state of Aragua, west of Caracas. It is also one of the twelve peaks that reach more than 2300 m. of elevation (using the criteria of more than 100 m. of prominence to the nearest col) in the central coastal range of Venezuela.
The summit and it's sorroundings are occupied by human developments: agruculture, recreational houses, antenas and a university research area.
A secondary paved road that separates from El Junquito-Colonia Tovar main road, leads to the summit, where a private property limits the access to it.
There are only a few meters of elevation, not more than five, between the highest point of the road and the true summit.
Views are wonderfull if the day is clear, so, if you visit the tourist town of Colonia Tovar, it's worth reaching Alto de Lagunazo.
