This is an example of how dangerous this mountain can be. On aug 8th 2006 at 5.00am we were awakened by a bunch of kids in a kids camp group. They were quite loud and rowdy and i thought to myself this is no place for that.. A hour or so went by when one of the leaders from the group came to our campsite just below the west ridge(or where the chimney is) to inform us that a 15 yr old girl had fell off a ledge and in between two boulders and that she was hurt. They had called for help already. It took all of 1.5-2.0 hours for the emts to get there(climbing the mountain with their gear). Then to get her out they decided to airlift her (hence the pic) which took another 1.5-2.0 hours approx. Long time to lay there in pain and very difficult to get you down. So go to this mountain enjoy the views(many)explore the caves but be aware of what awaits around the corner if for one moment you don't respect this mountain!!
