Liathac

This has to be my favourite mountain. Having lived at Glen Cottage I had plenty of opportunities to sample Liathac in all conditions, and it's different routes. The quickest way to the top was immediately behind Glen Cottage up through terraces and gullies, but you had to be very careful coming down that way! I remember a memorable climb in winter when I went up the standard route at the western end, but had to retreat from the summit to Glen Cottage in worsening weather. The snow was very unstable, and I had forgotten my gloves, and it took me over 2hours to get down in what would normally take 40 mins.
