A friend and I started around 7:30am and by 11:30am we summited. The trail is a very straight forward, non-technical hike, just takes a few hours. The trail forks about an hour into the hike, from what we read we expected the fork earlier, but the sign reading Mt. Elbert Trail Head is roughly a fifth of the way up. A thunderstorm chased the ten of us that were on the summit to tree line in about 35 minutes. Not the safest way to decend but it beat getting hit by lightning. Overall great climb for all ages, plus for a few moments you're the 2nd highest thing in the lower 48.
