Description

The translation of name means, behind the Beautiful Corner. This peak is on the opposite side of the Valley from Ortler that encompasses Solda (AKA Solden) Italy. It is part of Della Stelvio National Park in Italy not far from the Swiss & Austrian Borders. A pure walk up from Solda, starting at 5,995 feet & going pass one hillside cafe & many grazing cows & a few bulls. It is one of two 10,000+ feet peaks in teh 100 Hikes in The Alps Book.

The Della Stelvio Pass is over 9,000 feet & ski lodges provide a very civilized method of acclimatizing for tourist who may have been in much lower elevations.
