Lone Peak Summit Log (#15183)

Excellent climb. Some postholing. Camped overnight at Second Hamongog meadow. Lots of snowmelt down low. Still hip deep up top. Much exposure between the south summit and the north summit. Snow arete was a kick. Snow seems pretty consolidated. No evidence of point releases or glide activity. Some rock skills needed to get off the south summit and on to the north summit. Took us 3 hours from Trailhead in Alpine to 2nd Hamongog. Took us 4 hours from 2nd Hamongog to north summit, which is the true summit. Great views of Salt Lake City on the north and Provo on the south. Snow was NOT freezing overnight, but was definitely less mushy in the morning.
