I was living in Tblisi at the time, and in Baku before, and of the mountains in Azerbaijan and Georgia that I climbed this was the best, especially for an intermediate climber. Ortveri ridge beside it is also recommended as an acclimatisation peak.

The glacier can be deceptive in summer with many small crevasses that are not well bridged.

I took a local guide named Waco for this climb, well worth it.
