Description
Located near the impressive Aconcagua South Face. 3 or 4 days trip in ideal conditions. From Horcones Lake follow the way to Confluencia (where you can camp if you started walking late) and then to Plaza Francia. Camp before reaching Plaza Francia to be safe from avalanches falling from Aconcagua. To make it to the top turn East from the camp and find your own way to the summit (there is no visible path). Easiest route to the summit is a walk up, but you may need an ice axe and crampons specially in the early season. In the late season soft snow on the mountain can make things a little difficult because your legs get buried in snow and crampons are useless!
