Description
Mt. Wellington is a spectacular backdrop for Hobart, its forested slopes rising above the port city. It is protected in the Mt. Wellington National Park. Fortunately, it is one of the easiest peaks to reach, even with a road reaching its summit. Walking trails also provide a route to the summit, where an observatory is located. Unique alpine flora and fauna can be observed on its slopes. Generally, it is cold with rain all year, with summer being the best time to visit. Snowfall is not unknown, and may even fall in summer.
