Hi!
My fullname is Gabriel Esquivel. I am from Buenos Aires (Argentina) but I`m used to go very often to the Cordillera de los Andes (Mountain range of los Andes), precicesly to a mountainous place called "Cordon del Plata", located a few kilometers away from the Aconcagua. The highest peak in that place reach 6.000 mts. above sea level and is called "cerro Plata -hill". The second peak is called "cerro Vallecitos" and reach 5.470 mts. of altitude. On past january 17, alongo two friends of mine we reached the top or Cerro Vallecitos at 3 p.m. and we felt very very happy.
If you like to attempt those summits, you will need to spend several days in 3 differents campsites in order to be well acclimated and get any peak. The campsite are named and located over the next altitudes:
Campsite "Las Veguitas" -3.100 mts. above sea level Campsite "Piedra Grande"-3.500 mts. above sea level Campsite "El Salto" 4.200 mts. above sea level
This climbing place called "Cordon del Plata" is used by local and foreigners expedition in order to acclimatize well before attempting the summit of Aconcagua (6.962 mts. of altitude)
