Description
Gunung (mountain) Mulu's sandstone mass dominates Gunung Mulu National Park. It rises to 2,376m. To the west of Mulu ang its flanks lies a band of Melinau limestone which forms the lesser peaks of Gunung Api and Gunung Benarat. The famous pinnacles rise above the tree tops (over 50m) with thier razor sharp tips at Gunung Api and Gunung Benarat. In the limestones beneath the jungle canopy lie some of the worlds impressive caves: Deer Cave, Clear Water Cave, Wind and Lang Cave.
From, Miri, Sarawak, take a flight to Mulu. The walk wil take 4 days to and fro, walking thru dense tropical rainforest. A guide is a must and can be booked from the Mulu National headquarters.
