Description

Drive north from Silverton on US Highway 550 to the 11,018-foot-high summit of Red Mountain Pass. About one-quarter mile below the top, on the north side, you will see a small dirt road that runs east. Hike or use a 4WD and take this road about 1/4 mile to a meadow behind the knoll. Before you lie the streets, cabins and workings of Red Mountain Town.
