Description

Torre is the highest peak of mainland Portugal. It is the high peak of the Serra Da Estrela mountain range, which is located in the westernmost portion of the Iberischen Scheidegebirges, a mountain system that spans from east to west across the center of the Iberian Peninsula. Torre is located within the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, and is a popular tourist area for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter.

The Serra da Estrela is also famous for its wonderful cheese called "Queijo da Serra", as well as its smoked sausages.
