Description

One of the main summits in the south area of the Aiguestortes national park, in the Catalonian Pyrenees.

Pic de Subenuix is an isolated big mountain of almost 3000 meters height. Easy to climb, but so hard because of the height, unevenness and distance. Then you’ll find few people in the summit or probably nobody.

Very good views from the top, amazing viewpoint. With good visibility you will see all the main mountains of eastern Pyrenees: Turbón, Cotiella, Posets, Aneto-Maladeta, Mauberme, Grand Valier, Pica d’Estats. Splendid views too of closer summits, valleys and lakes.

There are two main ways of ascent:

1) the south way starting from Sallente dam or Colomina hut;

2) the north way from St. Maurici or from the St. Nicolau valley.
