Zugspitze

I was stationed at HHB 3rd Armd Div Arty in Hanau, West Germany and my unit offered a trip to Garmisch as adventure "training". I loved the idea of having fun and getting promotion points! A group of us stayed for a week and hiked to the summit, rapelled off a cliff, learned how to stop falling on a glacier, did a 400 ft suspended traverse, and learned how to kayak in the lake that you see at the bottom as you come down in the tram. I even swam in a glacial pond...brrrrrr. It was an experience of a lifetime! I would love to hear from anyone that I knew from that time so feel free to drop me a line if you remember me..
