Description
Montana Peak is the dominant peak in the Hatcher Pass Area of the Talkeetna Mountains. It is one of several peaks in this area that provide excellent and exciting climbs. Montana itself is seldom summitted it requires a great deal of skill in rock, scramble and glacier climbing. The trailhead is at a state lot. Here the Gold Mint Trail begins and follows the Little Susitna(river) to the Mint Glacier at the base of the peak.
