Argonaut Peak

Description

Argonaut Peak is located in the beautiful Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Argonaut Peak is a centrally located summit on the Stuart Range, which is an east-west line of high granitic peaks east of the main Cascade Crest, and includes other noteworthy peaks such as Stuart, Sherpa, Colchuck, and Dragontail. Argonaut Peak is situated 2 miles east of Mount Stuart and the first peak east of Sherpa Pass. Argonaut Peak ranks #68 on the list of Washington’s 100 Highest Peaks. The deep footing of Ingalls Creek gives Argonaut over 4000 feet of local relief above the valley and makes it stand out and visible to travelers on Interstate 90. The standard ascent is a scramble made on the south slope via Ingalls Creek Trail.
