Mount Tuzo

Description

Mount Tuzo is located on the boundary of Banff National Park and Kootenay National Park near the Lake Louise area. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, or Wenkchemna Valley. It is part of the Bow Range and Wenkchemna Peaks which tower above Moraine Lake. Postcard and calendar images of Moraine Lake usually show Mount Tuzo as a backdrop to the lake as it abruptly rises 1200 meters above the lake between Mount Allen to its south, and Deltaform Mountain to its west. Mount Tuzo is named for Henrietta L. Tuzo who was the first to summit the mountain along with guide Christian Kaufmann in 1906.
