Map : Official map of Bavaria, sheet Berchtesgadener Alpen, 1 : 50 000 ( in meters !)

Near the village Glanegg ( 1480 ft ) is a parking for tourists. On a marked broad but steep path through the gorge Rositte to the head of Dopplersteig. This is a marked and a little exposed path with a lot of steps and some cables. From here you will enjoy a view like from a plane, because the plain of the country of Salzburg and the city of Salzburg are immediately

under your feets. If you hear a noise : it is a plane starting from Salzburg airport. Dopplersteig finishes at hut Zeppezauerhaus ( 5458 ft),Austrian Alpine Club, managed in summer. Now on a broad path to Geiereck ( top of the cable-car from St. Leonhard ). On the ski-track, at last on a path to the top. 5-6 h from the parking.

Descent to Zeppezauerhaus, then on an easy marked path called Reitsteig to the parking, 3 h.

You can also descent by cable-car, but in this case you will have a flat way back of 1 h to your car.
