Description

Seehorn is a cone-formed, isolated mountain in the chaine : Südliche Wimbachkette, which is part of the Berchtesgadener Alps.

Drive from Lofer to Weißbach and then direction Hirschbichl until to the end of the public road, the parking is named Futterstadl.

On carriage road ( mountainbike recommended ) to pasture Kallbrunnalm, managed in summer. ( 4760 ft). 1 1/2 h. To Kallbrunn also by mountainbike from lake Hintersee near Berchtesgaden. 2 1/2 h. Kallbrunn is very popular as excursion. From Kallbrunn on a marked path to the summit, 2 1/2 h.

Descent like ascent, 1 1/2 h Kallbrunn. Or you follow short time the east-ridge of Seehorn, descent through a gully to wonderful Hochwies, cross Hochwies and descent on a marked path in a valley. On carriage road back to Kallbrunn,3 h.

Don´t try to descent through gully Loferer Seilergraben to Wimbachgrieß ! Very steep slabs partially covered by rubble, dangerous !
