Description
Mount Timpanogos is a striking peak of layered sedimentary rock, giving it a banded appearance reminiscent of peaks in the Canadian Rockies. It towers over the city of Provo, Utah and is a very popular summer hike. The standard summit trail starts at Aspen Grove, near Sundance on Utah 92. Early season hikers should beware of the "killer snow holes" formed under snow cover by the streams and waterfalls.
