San Luis Peak

My friend Jen and I backpacked in 4 miles to 12,100 feet up Stewart Creek Basin on Friday. We took a great hike up Organ Mountain that afternoon. Saturday we left camp at 7 a.m. and were on the summit by 8:40 a.m. A beautiful day with no clouds, warm temperature and plenty of wildflowers. There was no summit log (or summit log container) on San Luis peak. I had expected no summit log so I had made one but the lack of the summit log container had me at a loss. I fashioned one out of a beef jerky bag and some accessory cord I had. That will tide us hikers over until the CMC replaces it. See my URL listed here for photos of the trip.
