A damp misty day no crowds anywhere, with brief views of the surrounding area - will be back on a better day. I had heard Helvellyn described as the "Brian Blessed" of a mountain - having seen it first hand I think I agree. Did the ridge along to Great Dodd good walk but watch the descent from Great Dodd & Mill Gill - a bit tricky.
