Description
Vihren, highest peak in the Pirin Mountains. Vihren is the second highest peak on the Balkan peninsula after neighbor Musala peak( 2925m highest peak on Rila Mountain). Vihren is most beautiful in winter when it is covered with snow. Cone is cut-off from north-east and inapproachable, you can climb from south-west. There is avalanche danger (rocky, in winter snow). View from summit is remarkable, you can see three countries, Bulgaria, North Greece and east Macedonia. Pirin has 130 lakes and 54 peaks over 2500m altitude.
