Mount Barney

I vividly remember climbing this fine mountain way back in 1997 when I was working in Brisbane for a year.

What should have been a relatively straight-forward climb on a marked path turned into a more adventurous and exhausting day - we missed a critical turning at the creek near the base of the mountain and ended up having to scramble up through lantana infested slopes basically just aiming ever upwards until we finally reached the rocks on the summit.

One of my most memorable days in Australia's Great Outdoor.
