Corteo Peak is located in the Rainy Pass area along the North Cascades Highway from which it can be seen, and is situated on the North Cascades National Park boundary line. Corteo is less than two miles SE of Black Peak, 2 miles NE of Benzarino, and 2 miles NW of Frisco Mountain. Corteo Peak forms a beautiful backdrop over Wing Lake which is basecamp for climbers attempting nearby Black Peak. There are class 4 scramble routes on the East Face, South Face, and Southwest Ridge. The first ascent was by John Lehmann and Hermann Ulrichs in July 1935.
