Beartooth Butte is a highlight along the scenic Beartooth Highway (Highway 212). It's situated immediately northwest of Beartooth Lake. A gravel road leaves the highway west of the lake and climbs to the Clay Butte Lookout. From there it's an easy three mile hike and 1000 foot elevation gain to the summit of Beartooth Butte along a wishbone-shaped ridge. Big views from the summit of the Aboroka-Beartooth Widerness. The highway is closed in winter.

Prominence: 234 ft
