El Diente as seen from the south Kilpacker Basin approach. Date is 08/04/2005. Bad storms every afternoon made an early start manditory. Route goes off picture to right then comes back accross just below ridgeline.
Sunlight Peak, center, and the awesome Sunlight Spire to the right as seen from the trail just above Twin Lakes. This is just over an hours hike out of our camp in Chicago Basin. The morning clouds are burning off and the weather will hold till we get back near this point. 08/01/2005
The wide gully between the "Ships Prow on the right and Mt. Meeker on the left is the route to the "Loft" A massive flat between Meeker and Longs Peak. The trick to this route for either peak is when reaching the cliffs below the snow field is scrambling the buttress to the left and not straight up. Date 08/09/2004
Mt Wilson 14246 ft. as seen looking East from El Diente along the famous "Fourteener Traverse" between them. Its 11:14 on 4 August 2005 and the thunder storms that soaked us a day earlier are already building.
A view of Long"s south side during an ascent of Mt Meeker in August of 2004. Bob took this photo while climbing with his long time mountaineering partner Clare Comstock a few days prior to his 60th birthday.
My partner Clare leads the way up the moraine below Wetterhorn's east face. Once on top of the moraine the trail leads left and then swings back to approach the ridge from the south with the final ascent on the west face. Date is 07/01/06. Time of photo 07:15.
