Siberia is the vast region of Northern Asia that spreads between the Ural Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, mostly within Russia. The region includes a diverse array of mountain ranges, small in height compared to their Central and Southern Asian counterparts, yet remote and rugged, with some spectacular isolated peaks. Some of the major ranges and regions include the Cherskiy Range, Kamchatka peninsula, Kinghan Range, Sayan Mountains, Sikhote-Alin, Stanovoi Range, Ural Mountains, and Yablonovyy Range.
