A distinctive, rocky peak on the Tohono O'odham Reservation. Several different routes, ranging from 5.6 to 5.11C free, or 5.11- A4. A beautiful summit, with expansive views. Baboquivari is on the TohonoO'Odham Nation and is the Holy dwelling of their God, Litoi. The summit block is a rhyolite volcanic plug reminiscent of the Matterhorn. Sometimes is referred to as the Matterhorn of the Southwest. The most popular route and the descent route is the Forbes Route which is 4th class with one protected pitch of 5.4. Another popular technical route is the S.E. Arʹe with good exposure on fine rock. My partner and I have done this route and it is a fine day of climbing.

- Log #15284 - by Josh Swartz on Nov 16, 1999Summited via "Crystal Line" (5.8) on the south face. The climb was a little scary due to loose rock and runout climbing, but overall it was fun.
- Log #15285 - by Mike Branch on Oct 11, 1999We summited via the S.E. Arete and descended the Forbes Route. Great exposure on fine rock. Route has just enough diversity to keep it interesting without scaring the bejeebers out of you.
- Log #15286 - by Bob Hamilton on Oct 08, 19991977 - Forbes route (4th class) 1978 - SE Arete (5.6). Reached summit at sunset - spectacular hot pink clouds- really an unbelievable color. Descended Forbes route in gathering gloom. Elected to...
