Took the park bus from the Albergo Universitat - should have booked the earlier one. Long flat route on the "road" to the refugio. Saw plenty of snow, even though it was high summer and everyone we spoke to said you could not go walking in August. It was a little hot, but only like a summer's day in the Lakes. The final push was tiring. The summit is nicely proportioned. We had left the camera behind and so had the only other person we say on the top! It took us far longer than we thought to walk down. We missed the last bus back and saw a marvelous sunset over Granada. From the top we could see the Med and the line of the Sierra Nevada is very inviting. Any hill walkers holidaying on the Costa del Sol or in Granada should try it.
