Mount Kilimanjaro Trip Report (#3891)
- Signed By: Cindy Colarusso
- Date submitted: April 08, 2004
I first got the climbing inspiraton while watching an Outward Bound documentary in my 7th grade science class. The movie totally captivated me and created a goal so frustratingly difficult for a 7th grader to achieve, as I come from a family who only believes in traveling in four star hotels. It wouldn't be until age 26 before I dove head first into backpacking, putting Mt. Rainier as my first and successful quest. Since that trip it has been nothing but one climbing trip after another. Kilimanjaro was my first international climb unless you wanna count poking my head around the Bavarian Alps climbing. If your ever in the United States, I can't express how beautiful a climb up Mt. Whitney in California is and I recommand it highly!! I'm currently climbing the highest peak in all fifty states....well, maybe only 49...Mt. McKinley has me a bit worried. I'm still pondering that one. But anyhow, please feel free to e-mail me with any questions you might have about USA Highpoints. I'd love to share the expriences!! Take Care, Cindy.
