Polemonium Peak

Named after the lovely, small, blue flower found at altitude. Secor gives the height as 14,080+ feet. Nice view from summit ridge of small, south-facing glacier, often with odd, wind-sculpted shapes in the snow later in season. Views to east and north look down on giant Palisades glacier. Last few moves to summit are wildly exposed but easy.

    Camped at Dusy Basin, hiked around to Sill first ( long! ), then went along ridge to Polemonium. Summit part is pretty exposed. Wouldn't do that without rope. Rappelled down into the U-notch and...

    Primary routes to approach the summit are from Mt Sill to the SE, North Palisades from the WNW, and the V-Notch to the NE. Either way, the last bits are definitely exposed 5th class but pretty easy....
