Quadra Mountain is located on the Banff National Park boundary with Kootenay National Park, south of the Lake Louise area. It is situated on the Continental Divide with Bident Mountain to its immediate east and Consolation Lakes below its north face. Its position at the south end of the Consolation Valley makes it visible from the road to Moraine Lake, with the impressive glacier on the north flank featured. Quadra is also visible from Highway 1. As a climbing destination Quadra is rarely visited. The name is derived from the four ascending peaks on its east-west summit ridge. The eastern peak is the lowest; the western peak the highest.
Refer to Selected Alpine Climbs in the Canadian Rockies by Sean Dougherty for information on the climbing routes on Quadra Mountain.
