Agnes Mountain, elevation 8115 feet, is a steep rocky horn with deep footings located in the remote Glacier Peak Wilderness of Wenatchee National Forest. It is situated three miles east of the larger Dome Peak at the headwaters of Icy Creek and Yew Creek which drain into Agnes Creek's West Fork. There are no glaciers on Agnes because it is on the drier east side of the Ptarmigan Crest. Successful summit attempts are rare due to the remote location and technical difficulty. Fred Beckey's guidebook reports it had been successfully climbed on only 14 occassions by 1987.
Refer to Fred Beckey's Cascade Alpine Guide, Volume 2, for complete climbing route descriptions.
