The Bussen is a mountain in southern Germany, in the region of Upper Swabia, with an elevation of 767 metres (approximately 2516 feet). It is also designated as the Holy Mountain of Upper Swabia. It is situated on the border between the Swabian Alb and Upper Swabia. Being one of the most visited places of pilgrimage in Upper Swabia, it also offers spectacular views as far as to the Alps more than 100 kilometers to the south. The summit can be accessed easily by a short walk. Besides the pilgrimage church it holds the ruins of a Hohenstaufen imperial castle. Many centuries earlier the Bussen already played an important role in the celtic culture of the area.
