Mesa or Tepui shaped like a Mercedes star rising no less than vertically from the surrounding jungle. The top is flat with low vegitation, most of which is insectivorous due to to the lack of soil. Roraima (Lost World) is clearly seen to the South.
Approach is via the Mazaruni river in canoe. About a 5 hour walk (take local guides) to the walls. Plenty of wild life (some of which is edible). Allow at least a week for the round trip. Tents not required since the base of the wall is protected from the rain by the overhang. Best sleeping arrangement is in hammocks with one end tied to a piton in the wall and the other to a tree. Gets cold at night so sleeping bags recommended.
You may find two flags on a branch still standing on the top. British and Colombian!
Ascent witnessed by the the Mazaruni District Commissioner from his light aircraft.
