Poe Mountain stands as one of a number of peaks along Poet Ridge in the Wenatchee Mountains of the Cascade Range in Washington State. Many of the peaks on this ridge are named after famous poets: Poe Mountain, Longfellow Mountain, Whittier Peak. There are two common routes to the summit. One climbs to Irving pass and follows the ridge line SE of the summit, the other switchbacks up the SW slope of the mountain from the valley floor. The summit itself was the site of a forest service lookout station in the past, but the building has since been removed. The views are just as excellent though, and reward anyone who makes the climb.
