Peak 6271 is located in the William O. Douglas Wilderness, one mile north of Tahtlum Peak. It's a prominent landmark visible from Highway 410 a couple miles east of Chinook Pass. It abruptly rises 2000 vertical feet above the Rainier Fork American River to a rocky horn for a summit. Prominence is 331 feet, which is the height above the steep saddle separating it from a secondary peak to its west. See Tahtlum Peak (line parent) for approach.
