My two brother-in-laws landed unexpectedly from new zealand one week previously, in my eyes these two were accomplished rock/ice climbers, i'd never seen them for several year's, "we're going walking in the lakes, would you like to come with us ?", "sure" i said, a great bit of bonding i thought. Up until this point the steepest thing i had been up was a flippin ladder, the walk up helvellyn was brilliant, then , i seen it, striding edge, i most certainly do not have a head for heights, the rain was falling it was very misty, cold, and windy, and me in my "shorts". I realise that this is not a tough scramble/climb for some people but not having a head for heights i clung onto every "big" rock i could find with parts of my anatomy that i had never used before. Well, as you can guess i got down safely, my brother-in-laws have since gone back to New Zealand, in stitches of laughter. Finally i must say climbing striding edge was an immense experience for me,exhilarating, and satisfying. If your thinking of doing this, go for it, it's great !!!, And thanks to my two kiwi's
