Scafell Trip Report (#14040)

An excellent climbing area. The Scafell Massif itself strikes me as slightly boring compared to the neighbouring Great Gable and Pillar etc. But nevertheless a mountain well worth a climb. Summited at 7.30pm following a very knackering trek from Honister pass YHA (which incidently is an excellent hostel and the food is second to none). We then went down a short way and camped at the bottom of Broad Stand crags, it was unbelevably cold for August and the trusty old Vango tunnel nearly blew off the mountainside - was I ever pleased to see The Wasdale Head Inn!!!
