Mount Stanley Trip Report (#14814)

Pre-dawn start got us to the top 9 a.m., a spectacular clear sunny day, every peak in the Ruwnzoris visible. But what I will remember most of all: the numerous weathered marker wands, scattered all over the surface of the Stanley Ice Plateau - exposed, after having been buried who-knows-how-long, by the melting of the glacier. Sad to think that in the next few decades, all of the glaciers here will be gone.
