We climbed this peak early in the season (late may). There was still a substantial amount of snow. The view from timberline lake is somewhat imposing but the climb is simple. It is a steep scramble up the gully from the lake. Expect snow at the top all year round. The first attempt at this peak left us running for cover as a afternoon thunderstorm rolled in after building in a matter of minutes. Be careful. Either get a very early start or spend a night at the lake fishing and enjoying the grandeur of the Beartooths to avoid getting caught by the storms that hit daily between 2 and 4 p.m.
