If this peak is free of snow, which may happen about mid-late August, much of the ascent from Opabin Pass is scrambling and does not require a rope. The upper third requires roped climbing and the rock is loose, but normal for the Cdn Rockies. Crux is the black band at the top, we used a couple of fixed pins here. Biggest hassle is geting to Lake O'Hara as you need a bus reservation, a campground spot and a backcountry pass that costs $6 per night. There's a quota system in effect too.
