Just came back after failing to summit. Our guide decided that the wall of snow above the second cravase at 6200 was too dangerous. We had heard avalanches all night so I can't say I was too distressed. Theres always another day and theres only one life. It is beautiful mountain and it was a pleasure to be the only people on it. The main advantage to going out of season, its completely different being alone as oppoosed to one of 80 people marching to the summit. But if it had been in season we would have made it. Ask me which one I prefer? Give me the solitude anytime.
